Upward Projects, named one of the fastest growing private companies in the United States, secured one of the buildings located on the grounds of the historic 1960s Phoenix Financial Center for their new home office headquarters and Clay worked with the Upward Projects team to create their new headquarters. The building, originally designed by W.A. Sarmiento in 1964, is circular with large floor-to-ceiling windows adorned with upside down arches, is full of interesting architectural touches. With the goal of preserving the spirit of the original building and updating it to reflect the unique personality of Upward Projects. Tenant Improvement work was completed on the first and mezzanine levels, taking advantage of the large expansive ceiling, floating staircase and oversized globe light fixtures. Throughout the space are custom interior finishes and furniture, including height-adjustable desks, fabrication and provided by Urban Plough Furniture through closely working with the designers of Clay.
